The timepiece is incredibly light thanks to the combination of a high intensity titanium inner case and an outer shell and bezel crafted from zirconia ceramic, a material seven times stronger than stainless steel. Housed beneath the striking black ceramic case is the famous Grand Seiko Spring Drive chronograph GMT calibre 9R96 movement which shows off an impressive accuracy of 0.5 seconds a day, and the Grand Seiko lion mark in 18ct gold decorates the oscillating weight on the back to symbolise this precision. 

One of the most charming features of this Grand Seiko Spring Drive Sports Black Ceramic watch is the enchanting deep green dial which glistens beneath the scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass. The striking colour and fir tree motif engraved on the dial is inspired by the Onbashira festival held every six years in Suwa, a city near the studio where the watch was born. The festival’s centre attraction is the carrying of huge firs trees down the mountainside to the shrine, a 1200 year old tradition that Grand Seiko watches celebrates. The dial also boasts a power reserve indicator of 72 hours and diamond cut hands and markers. The timepiece is completed by a sophisticated black crocodile leather strap with a threefold clasp and push button release.
